Congrats to Ellen Helf, Beth Gladney and Emily Miller from Shades Cahaba Elementary School for being selected with Discover-E grant: BookFlix.
A recent survey showed that students are spending less than 4 minutes a day reading nonfiction material. This grant will provide funding for BookFlix, an online literary resource, that pairs fiction reading with related nonfiction texts to encourage students’ interest in nonfiction. Books can be accessed in the classroom for a group lesson or enjoyed at home.
