Building an Endowment for our Future

The Legacy for Learning endowment is a five-year $2 million plan endorsed by Homewood City Schools that supports the important initiatives of the district’s strategic plan.

Since 1994, the Homewood City Schools Foundation has awarded $1 million+ in grants to teachers to provide curriculum enhancements and educational development in line with its mission to impact every student, every day.

The Legacy for Learning endowment will ensure stability and continuity for existing programs, while providing seed funding for new and innovative projects, resources, and training. This investment will benefit Homewood City Schools now and into the future, setting a new standard of excellence in education in Homewood by:

  • expanding proven student programs and pioneering innovative projects
  • enhancing teacher support and development inside and outside the classroom
  • establishing an endowment to strategically plan for future success
