Who We Are
Serving Our Schools Since 1994
Established in 1994, the Homewood City Schools Foundation provides financial support for educational programs, classroom enhancements, technology, teacher professional development, and more at all five Homewood schools—supporting every teacher, every student, every day.
The Foundation is a nonprofit organization led by its Board of Directors in partnership with parents, business owners, and community leaders who are committed to making our school system the best it can be. We fund programs and grants that support “out of the box” thinking and bring new ideas and concepts into our classrooms.
Programs That Make a Difference
The Foundation exists thanks to the generous donations of parents, teachers, alumni, and businesses in our community. We work to help support every teacher and every student reach their unique potential.
Funds raised support a variety of programs in our schools including:
- Homewood City Schools Foundation Grants to teachers for classroom projects and professional development
- School system initiatives, including technology and support for our libraries
- A PSAT Prep Class for top-scoring high schoolers working toward National Merit Recognition
- Initial fees for teachers applying for National Board Certification
- Scholarships for graduating seniors
